Richard Chaplin

Managing Director

Richard began his career in the health club industry after graduating with a degree and masters. After owning a number of large health and fitness clubs he got an appetite for property. Richard developed a website facilitating the private sale of homes, giving him a formidable understanding of the UK property market.

He was a Director for a property brokerage company and following this Co-Founder / Director of super-prime property developer Ypres Rose Developments. YRD completed five £10m+ luxury house developments in St. George’s Hill, Weybridge and the Wentworth Golf Estate, as well as other smaller developments, generating a Gross Development Value of over £60 million. Richard then went on to work with a London based furnishing company during its infancy.

Outside of work, Rich’s passion is first and foremost his family, then with any spare time you will see him on his road bike around Staffordshire.

Polly Haley

Founder & Director

After graduating from university, Polly took her first steps into the property sector as a photographer at one of London’s leading estate agents. It was here that she met her co-founder and business partner, Heidi. Interiors have always been Polly’s passion and whilst working she chose to study Interior Design at the Chelsea College of Arts to develop her skills and understanding.

In 2004 Polly and Heidi ventured into the entrepreneurial world and set up Milc. Over the past 12 years they have developed Milc from a ‘2-man’ organisation into the successful award winning business it has become today. Milc proudly joined the David Phillips Group in 2015.

Polly is happily married and a proud mother to her two sons Jude and Alfie. Her house is an ongoing project and at the weekends Polly can usually be found hunting for treasures at local flea markets and antique shops.

Heidi Clark

Founder & Director

Heidi studied Architecture at University and during this time worked for world renowned architects Foster and Partners. She developed a keen interest in interior design and took a break in her studies to become an architect to work for one of London’s top estate agents as a photographer. There she met co-founder Polly Haley. Together they established Milc, a successful award winning design business which has recently celebrated its 12 year anniversary. Milc proudly became part of the David Phillips Group in 2015.

Heidi’s other passion is dance; she danced for a London based dance company and studied at the prestigious Broadway Dance Centre in New York. She frequently travels between London and New York, always looking for inspiring interiors and new trends. Heidi also loves to take time out to relax with a glass of red wine and a delicious cheese board with friends.

After completing her degree in Furniture and Product Design, Poppy joined the luxury homewares and interiors retailer, Mufti. It was there that she gained invaluable knowledge of the furnishings trade, designing furniture and product ranges and keeping abreast of market trends. With her passion for interior styling, it was a natural step for Poppy to join Milc in 2009.

With a love of all things sushi, when Poppy is not helping family and friends with their styling woes she can often be found with chop sticks in hand trialling the latest sushi joints in and around London. Her must have great escape once a year is to Europe’s snowy mountains for snowboarding and mulled wine.

Alison has the sweetest tooth in the office. Never to be found far from the biscuit tin she instigated the Milc team bake-off and set the standard with her lemon poppy seed cake. Her spare time is spent silk screen printing, running, swimming, and sourcing mid-century modern furniture for her Stoke Newington flat.

Kristina Bendixen

Born in Denmark, Kristina moved to England in 2010. As Operations Director, she is integral to the day to day running of the company, keeping the Milc team on their toes and ensuring things run like clockwork. She has also built up great client relationships and our returning clients have got to know her very well. A talented linguist and writer, Kristina speaks 5 languages and is always on the lookout for a new turn of phrase to add to her repertoire.

Kristina is a huge sports fan, with a particular love of football and the Danish national sport of handball. As a runner and player of competitive sports, she makes a fearful opponent at the ping pong table, particularly when armed with her lucky paddle. She’s introduced the Milc team to the wonders of Danish sweets and baking, including the world’s premier varieties of Haribo and liquorice. Kristina often visits home to see her friends and family but loves to travel.
